Olivia Newton-John's Legacy

I was excited to work on Matthew Hild's new biography, A Little More Love: The Life and Legacy of Olivia Newton-John which examines the life of the popular singer/actor/humanitarian. As a kid, I LOVED the film Grease and its soundtrack. So, it was a treat to help bring her story to the world. While it's fun to hear about her accomplishments, romances, and famous friends, Hild doses a great job of spotlighting some of her less flashy, but important contributions such as her advocacy for the environment, LGBTQ+ rights, and support to find a cure for cancer, a disease that claimed her life after a multi-decade battle. While she died in 2022, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre continues her fight.

ON-J (as I found out her fans refer to her) is still such a beloved personality that PEOPLE Magazine dedicated their cover to the coverage of the book. Other outlets such as PARADE, Entertainment Weekly, and Page Six also covered the book. Author Hild discussed the book on WGN-TV's morning show as well as WABE-FM's Arts show.

For the record, my favorite Olivia Newton-John song is Magic, which is a lovely example of the spell she had over her fans.
