Silent Book Club started in 2012 when two friends began meeting regularly in a San Francisco wine bar to quietly read their respective books. Since then, Silent Book Club has grown to nearly 2,000 chapters in over 55 countries. There are no dues, nor assigned books, and no potluck dish to bring — just a group of people that meet-up to read their books (comics, textbooks, ebooks or audio books) silently in the company of other readers. 2025 is the 10th anniversary of the club expanding to other chapters, and Lit with Whit has joined to team to get the word out on this fun, supportive reading community.

PEOPLE Magazine ran an exclusive spotlight on the club and interview with the founders, along with images of clubs from throughout the world. People has a widely-trafficked, robust and dedicated books section which appeals to a wide variety of readers who often take action on the book news they discover there.
This was also a great opportunity to get the word out on the new international reading retreats that Silent Book Club introduced this year.
