Jason Pettigrew dives deep into Ministry's groundbreaking album
For many years I pitched Jason Pettigrew on various music books I publicized while he was the Editor of Alternative Press magazine. That recently came full-circle as he readied to publicize his first book, Ministry's The Land of Rape and Honey, a new entry into Bloomsbury's lauded 33 1/3 music series, and asked me to lend my expertise to his first book.
While Jason has interviewed thousands of musicians, and reviewed just as many albums he now had to reorient his thinking to who could interview him, and review his book. Lit with Whit found Jason relevant music sites and podcasts, and connected him with bookstores on his promotional tour. Additionally, we helped him navigate the business of books from working with his in-house marketing team, to learning how to interface with the warehouse to ensure books are available for his events. There is much more to selling books than writing them and doing interviews, and we're happy to also help him plan for the mundane details that can make or break a book promotion plan.

Tamara Palmer's perfectly focused Music Book Club interviewed Jason about the book and band and got him in front of targeted readers eager to find their next illuminating music book.
The What Difference Does It Make podcast focuses on 80's music — a natural fit for Jason and the book. Yet, their longer format interviews and interest in going slightly off topic in pursuit of engaging conversation made this a fitting outlet as they discussed Jason's deep musical background and invited him to contribute to their ongoing series analyzing the top hits from KROQ's 1988 year-end playlist. It's a fun listen!
